Training Programs

At TOTAL Jiu-Jitsu, we offer a variety of programs that are suitable for the novice beginner, as well as the seasoned practitioner.  Our goal is to share with you this dynamic art, sport, and how you can live a healthy lifestyle through Jiu-Jitsu while helping you achieve personal fitness and weight-loss goals.

Classes at TOTAL Jiu-Jitsu academy are held in both Gi and No Gi. All classes begin with a short dynamic warm up that includes both plyometric and calisthenic exercises. Classes are offered for both novice and advanced levels multiple times a week.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: FUNDAMENTALS (Gi and No-Gi ages ~16 and up)

The FUNDAMENTALS class is dedicated to helping newer students develop a solid foundation through the basic Jiu-Jitsu theories, techniques, and principles. Each class starts with light warm up calisthenic & mobility type exercises before moving on to fundamental instructional techniques, cooperative partner work and drilling, followed with light sparring.

**All new members who sign up to start the fundamentals Jiu-Jitsu program will receive a free introductory lesson prior to their first group class they attend. The lesson will cover some of the basic Jiu-Jitsu techniques and safe practices so that the new students can feel more confident before starting the group class.*

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: ADVANCED (Gi and No-Gi ages ~16 and up)

*Available to white belt students who are 3 stripes or up and/or only after the coaches/staff feel the student posses a good understanding of the basic fundamentals of Jiu-Jitsu.*

In the ADVANCED training program, students should already possess and understand the basic offensive & defensive Jiu-Jitsu principles. Students will be introduced to more advanced techniques including focused body mechanics & principles. This program also starts with light warm up calisthenic & mobility type exercises before moving on to instructional techniques, cooperative partner work and drilling, followed with light sparring.

Open Mat:

Open mat is a non-instructional class that is open to all levels and it is an ideal time for students to get extra training time on the mat by either practicing technique or live sparring with a training partner. It is also a great opportunity to practice and try implementing the technique and movements of what learned in class throughout the week.

Kids & Juniors Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gi and No-Gi: (for ages ~5-15)

TOTAL Jiu-Jitsu Kids & Juniors program is committed to providing a safe and fun learning environment where your child can achieve their very best. We offer tailored programs for different age groups, each with age-appropriate curriculum geared to build a solid foundation for techniques and continue to challenge and inspire our students.  They will become more confident and the skills they learn will help prevent bullying in school.  They will also improve their mental focus and physical shape so that they will have more self-esteem, which is a very valuable trait.

If your child is interested in competing, please let us know and we will be happy to coach and assist them in competing in local tournaments.  Competing is a great way for your kids to grow mentally and to learn about respect and discipline.

Your child is welcome to try a complimentary class to experience firsthand the benefits of Jiu-Jitsu in building confidence, self-esteem, and sportsmanship. The program strays away from the “win/lose contest philosophy” and focuses on instilling a hard work ethic, a positive attitude, and a love for the Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle. Classes include techniques, physical drills, games, and live training.
